A mob has just killed another man over GHc1.50 in Central Region and it's a serious!

AYOO GHANA has learnt that a 55-year-old man has been lynched at
Fetteh Kakraba, a community Gomoa East district of the Central Region,
after he was accused of stealing GHc1.50.

The man, Kofi Amoako Sensen, had finished drinking in a bar and was
leaving when the owner of the place accused him of stealing her money,
according to a report by adomonline.com. Sensen is said to have denied
stealing any money but the woman who owned the bar raised an alarm,
drawing residents of the area to the place. They are said to have
immediately begun beating Sensen without hearing his side of the
story. By the time they were done with him, he was vomiting blood and
was taken to the St. Gregory Hospital at Budubumram, www.Ayooghana.ml
understands.

The family of the late Sensen are said to have reported the case to
the police, who quickly went looking for the perpetrators but found
that all of them, including the bar owner, had fled. The lynching
comes amid a national outcry over a similar killing last Monday of
Captain Maxwell Mahama, a Ghana Army officer, at Denkyira Obuasi in
the Central Region.

The killing of Sensen, however, suggests that there has been no
progress in the campaign against mob justice. Another man was lynched
in Kumasi on Thursday for allegedly stealing a mobile phone, bringing
the number of people killed since Captain Mahama died to at least two.
